Having studied biology in general and taxonomy in particular , and having a passion for how technology and education can improve peoples lives it seems to me that the combination of the right tools and an appropriate classification system can change the world.
Understanding the behaviour of complex systems combined with the ability to manage change is the thing, everything else is stamp collecting. In these times to get more for less we will have to do things differently.
